From Total Novice to Confident Painter: How a Little Help Can Go a Long Way

Updated: 3 days ago

When I decided to redecorate my flat, I had no idea where to start. I wasn’t just a beginner—I was a total novice. Fortunately, two incredibly generous friends stepped in to lend a hand. They stayed for five days, offering not just their skills but their patience and encouragement.

Day 1: Learning the Basics

On the first day, my role was simple: tea-and-coffee maker, sandwich provider, and paint-run person. While they painted, I observed, asked questions, and absorbed as much as I could. Watching them work was like attending a crash course in decorating.

Day 4: Confident and Capable

Fast forward a few days, and I was rolling paint, cutting in, and feeling surprisingly confident in my new skills. Every evening, we’d plan the next day’s work over a well-deserved glass—or two—of wine, adjusting our roles as we went. When another friend popped in to join us, we flexed our tasks and made it work seamlessly.

The Big Realisation

Here’s what struck me: It wasn’t that I couldn’t do it—I just needed a little guidance and support to figure out how.

And isn’t that the case with so many things in life and business?

How This Mirrors Business Therapy

At Business Therapy, this is exactly what we’re about. It’s not about taking over or doing it for you—it’s about working with you. Whether it’s untangling messy processes, streamlining your tech, or pinpointing what’s holding you back, we’re here to help you move from stuck to unstoppable.

Just like I went from a novice to a confident painter with a little guidance, you can take control of your business challenges with the right tools, support, and know-how.

You Don’t Need Someone to Take Over

So, are you ready to roll up your sleeves, put on your overalls, and tackle your next big project? Together, we’ll make it happen.
