You’ve got a system. You’ve explained it. Maybe even documented it. But still… it’s not happening the way it should.
Before you tear it all up and start again, let’s look at what might really be going on.
Getting a team to follow processes isn’t just about writing them down — it’s about making them clear, realistic, and easy to use.
Here’s what helps:
⚫ Check if the process makes sense from their side – Is it clunky? Overcomplicated? Creating double work?
⚫ Make sure the process is visible and accessible – If it lives in a dusty folder or someone’s inbox, it’s already forgotten
⚫ Use tools that match the way your team works – Over-engineered systems = avoidance
⚫ Involve your team in improving the process – They’re far more likely to follow what they’ve helped shape
⚫ Make success visible – Track and share wins when the process does work — reinforce the why

And if you're constantly chasing, reminding, and tweaking things that should already be working — it might be time to zoom out and simplify.
