Plan Your Day Like Your Washing

Some days, everything feels like it’s taking longer than it should.

Work can feel a bit like doing multiple loads of washing that all need to be done before you head out - but when you sit down at your desk, everything’s still mixed up in the laundry basket.

But maybe there’s a way to use that.

What if you sorted your work like you sort your washing?

🟣 Quick rinse (15 mins) – the worn-once bits. Check emails, log calls, or do quick LinkedIn follow-ups.

One load at a time. That’s how you get things done.

🟣 Steam refresh (30 mins) – your delicates. Write agendas, tidy CRM notes, or draft a post caption.

🟣 Synthetics (1 hour) – gym kit and workwear. Outbound calls, plan social content, or follow up on actions.

🟣 Full cottons (2–3 hours) – towels and bedding Prep for client meetings, deep-dive project work, or design a new workshop.

This Week’s Quick Fix

Plan your day with the right mix for the time you have - a couple of long washes and a few short rinses.

You could even colour-code them in your calendar (or on paper) so you can see everything at a glance. Nothing worse than mixing your whites with your colours.

You don’t need a big system or a fancy planner - just a clearer picture of what’s a quick rinse and what’s a full wash.

Change one thing.
